Visits to Modelart in Bangalore

Spending some time in a diecast store is like a full day stay in paradise for most of the collectors, especially for collectors here in India with a very limited light on diecast hobby and not much when it comes to stores apart from few in some metros. Fortunately one happends to be in my city as well so here is my experience with the store, the store keepers and some stuffs that they have.

I have been out focus on where to buy some professional quality diecast models like Autoart, Kyosho, Franklin Mint etc. but after some research on this subject found this store “Modelart” right in my city who sell some good collection of Autoart. The store is located in “Forum” mall in Koramangala. On my first visit I took home a Toyota MR2 and Lotus Europa but very badly wanted that black and red Veron which is a twice the cost of the other models. They also had a very detailed Ford GT 1:12 on display which is like Rs.25,300 and another Lamborghini Murcielago in the same scale. The setup of the store is very welcoming and warm so that you can enjoy the store’s ambient for long. The store keepers are also very cooperative and encourages you to spend more time talking diecast. The price is on the costlier side but the budget models like Maistos and Bburagos are on par.

Impressed by the first visit made few successive visits and was surprised by the way they sell these premium stuffs, the Veron and Ford GT are gone! I even asked the keeper about the GT and his answer was positive. So that day I came to a know that there are people around who put passion before  practicality.

The last visit before this post was on June 25th when I took a Ford Shelby Cobra GT500 and saw a 1:12 Bugati Veron in blue and black shade on their display. The keeper(aran) took my number and even gives me a ring when new stock arrives. All in all this one cool place to hang out even if you are not into this hobby.

  1. Had been to your Mumbai shop – Inorbit Mall , Malad in 2005 , but they have shut down now.
I had picked up the Mercedes Benz 500 K – 1936 Typ Special Roadster ivory model (36055)at that time.

Am interested in vintage models (1:18 scale models)and would appreciate if you could send me a list of available and soon to be available models.

    1. Thanks for the sharing your view. But I am just an other collector like you and this post is my experience that I had when I visited ModelArt. You should try this number(Modelart Bangalore – 080 22067675) for the information your requested. All the best and Happy shopping….

  2. HI,
is there any website for modelart from where i can ordered as they had a shop in bombay and closed long back. I had collected few models from bombay and now since they have shifted to banglore i am unable to buy any as the models they have are difficult to find anywhere else.

    1. They had a website but is no longer available! They do send you models but you have to call and order and on payment delivery they will deliver! (Though I haven’t used this method)

You can call them at 080 22067675 and check what best they can do… Good luck.

Alternate to Modelart is “Gift Center” and “AutoMania” which I have no contacts but google or local helpline would help. They have a good stocks of AUTOart, Kyosho, Minichamps, CMC etc.
