Road Signature Collectibles is fairly new diecast scale model brand into my collection. I recently picked a 1:18 scale 1953 Ford F-100 Pickup in red from Hamleys, Bangalore. I am not a classic truck collector but this Ford F-100 entered my collection as a customisation donor for the Expendables F-100 that Barney Ross (Sylvester Stallone) rolls in… But it is also a cool SUV right out of the box in red so my plans may change who knows!
This red SUV comes in a standard black Road Signature Collectibles box… The box is pretty simple with a massive window and logos on both sides , yeah it has “Road Signature Collectibles” logo on one side and “Lucky Die Cast” logo on the other side! The centre gets the name of the car, which actually is sticker with the name on it!
This box does have a windows on right and left but its not the same that I have seen in Maistos and Wellys! These windows have arc strips cutting through them and they look quite cool!
The rear and bottom of this box is allocated to the legal details that Road Signature Collectibles is obligated to! I own this Ford for around 3 months and its only today I found out that Road Signature Collectibles has this car scale model licences! It is impressive to see “Dodge”, “GM”, “Ford” and “Chrysler” with a single brand!
Unboxing this Road Signature Collectibles 1953 Ford F-100 Pickup is almost straight forward and follows the lines of Maisto and Welly. Cut the seal, pull the inner frame, take off the background piece, unscrew those two screws holding the car and viola! Its thats simple!
Once this truck is out of its plastic base its macho looks comes alive! But there is one more step that would let this beauty free, which is cutting those plastic straps holding the doors, trunk and even the hood. Yes it gets all opening feature including the trunk and it also gets wood textured flooring.
Once out of the box all the way, this looks great in red even! I actually picked this Road Signature Collectible – Ford F100 to customise but this F100 is growing on me and I love its paint job more, so maybe I will thing twice before stripping it out for a new coat in matt black.
This 1953 Ford F100 is a looker in red with very good details like opening doors that has very good contour and seamless line. The trunk is a separate piece and it opens up to put it in loading pose because it also has very nice wood flooring in the trunk. This truck also gets all the chrome details right from front grill to the subtle fuel cap.
I love movie car and this is not my first Ford truck so I decided to put one other modern truck (Ford SVT F-150 Lightning) in for size comparison. The 1:18 scale Ford F-150 looks like it is not so accurate and looks so tiny in the presence of this monster right next to it!
This 1953 Ford F100 feels solid in hand and got curious and put it on my trusty old weighing scale and it showed 806grams, which is decent for a value for money diecast scale model truck. And for reference my Maisto Jeep Wrangler weights only 580gms making this a heavier truck.
Because this Ford truck is so good so far, I decided to keep it as is for some more time before customising starts. This truck will be so mean as in the movie and thought it will be cool to take few shots with some of my figurine and this is the best. I just love this to the core! I may put up a review sooner than you think so stay tuned… till next time, Ciao!
