I am a bike guy my entire life, mostly into fast sports bike but when it comes to diecast scale models I have no limits. I love sport bike, trail bikes, cruisers and even custom chopper the same! In India the selection is a bit limited but there are some authentic brands like Royal Enfield, who makes classic street bikes! When I got the news about Maisto 1:12 Royal Enfield Classic 500, I jumped in joy and almost pre-order it the same day I posted the article from www.hobbytoys.co.

Couple of days back, I got a call from the HobbyToys and said that the Royal Enfield I ordered is ready for delivery. Because I opted for cash on delivery, they called me to double check and when I checked if I can change my payment mode to plastic money they accepted and gave me alternate options to pay.

The package arrived last Saturday and wow they look awesome even inside the package! The package arrived in very good shape but my only compliant is that there was no protection of any type so one of my bike’s box was bit crushed! But nothing bad! A bit of bubble wrap wont hurt, I guess!

The package is a classic one in all red with windows on both sides, showing off the flare and beauty. The package had some Royal Enfield logo (yeah on all side except the bottom) and there is only one model name! There is also a brief of the company on one side, which is new for Maisto’s 1:12 bikes!

The package is very similar to the Harley Davidson series but it has some unique details on the inside, check out the Royal Enfield logos in red, which just stares at you. This logo details is a real stand out feature in this black bike than in the other Desert Storm shade.

The Harley Davidson’s similarities doesn’t end there, even the fastening mechanism is very similar to this Harley Davidson 2013 FLHRC Road King Classic. Whats holding it to the box frame is a single screw, again like a HD box.

Once out, this Royal Enfield immediately steals your heart! The black paint job is all shinny affair and the chrome work is all nice and shiny. I love parking the bike right next the package, which kind of is my signature unboxing frame and in this case it look awesome with the red contrasting the black bike well.

Maisto 1:12 Royal Enfield Classic 500 Black - Size Comparison

The bike looks bit smaller on first inspection, but later the I put him next to my 2014 Harley Davidson Iron 883 the size difference seems less obvious. Of course the Harley looks bigger because it is designed to look bigger, even with some size mismatch this RE holds it own!

This Royal Enfield Classic 500 is classic bike with a huge fanbase and I am sure that this 1:12 Royal Enfield Classic 500 will find a lot of Indian buyers even those who are not into diecast scale model collection. I did love unboxing this RE and specially loved the size comparison with Harley Davidson Iron 883. I also have a “Desert Storm” shade Royal Enfield Classic 500 that came along with this black beauty, which will be unboxed soon.

  1. Nice one which I wish I could buy over here in Malaysia where I am living just like the rest of other Maisto 1/12 motorcycle model. However, it seems like none available so far and buying this online directly from India will incure me a hell lot to pay for shipping cost. Sigh..
