I been collecting Hotwheels cars for over 20years! And this year’s New Year Resolution was to not to collect Hotwheelswith an exception being 2 Mainlines every month. Even though the local toys scenario helped keep up that resolution for the first few month, I ended up breaking the resolution and picked more that what I should have picked! Yeah I picked more than 24 Mainline and here is my Top 10 Hotwheels Mainlines of 2025. BTW as always, this my personal rating not a result of survey of some sort, so all the views are my own.
This year was decent in terms of quality and if you are like me, you would have had a mixed bag feel! Yeah we got some great cars in huge quantities like the “80TH Anniversary Edition Kool Kombi” technically making them a peg warmer. But lets start with a special mentions, shall we? The first one in this list is the “National Icons” cardart series “67 Porsche 911R” in beautiful red and I managed to pick a few as I loved it so much!
Even though this is not an official licenced vehicle, this Polestar TRX is a beauty that should be there in every collectors shelves… Yeah this is my honourable entry number two and this guy is quite a rare piece to get my hands on! I dint pick it up from a physical store but via Blinkit App as this is relatively out of stock everywhere, once I received it in hand, I get the reason why this is this rare.
At number ten is the Czinger 21C (192/250) which by the way is also released under “Peak Pursuit” series this year. This is not a new cast but a beautiful cast but dint find itself to the hearts of many collector! I loved it and picked both the colors released this year. Yes, this tenth position is shared by both the orange and white Czinger 21C.
89 Mercedes Benz 560 SEC AMG (52/250) takes the ninth place and it’s the second time this Merc has reached the Top 10! Released under “Wild Widebody” series this year, this metallic greenish 89 Mercedes Benz 560 SEC AMG is an eye grabber and fell in love for it on first sight. I have the older silver version and this green will be a beautiful companion for it in my display case and also other Mercs in storage.
At eighth place is the Pagani Utopia (225/250) released under “Peak Pursuit”. This Pagani is one of my Top 10 pick for the last year and this color variant made it to the list again this year too. The white released last year is a accurate reproduction of the original car but this blue with gold rims is a equally good looking car.
Taking the seventh place in my top 10 for the year 2025 is Ford Mustang GTD (34/250) in blue. Released under Mustang 60 series and unleashed in silver and blue, they pump adrenaline into your veins even with a single look. Yeah I been looking for this since the day the cases showed up in shore, but dint find in stores till few days ago! I would have given a higher rank if I would have got the silver, which I assume we never got it! But I am getting a 1:18scale by Maisto, very soon!
Brand Ferrari comes back to Mattel’s staple this year and collectors were all excited, so as me. The first to hit shelves is the Ferrari SF90 Stradale (191/250) released under my favourite “Factory Fresh” series, this is scalper’s first choice, so I struggled a bit and finally managed to get a few just because of the FOMO! On close inspection, this is not a great cast, but a cool cast done in trademark Ferrari red. What got it to be sold in great number is the history and the same got him this sixth place in my Top 10.
Tesla have always been a famous cars in Hotwheels line up and this Tesla Cyberquad (82/250) released this year under “HW Dirt” series is no different. Since it was announced, I was keen on picking it but the case (D) it was packed dint made it to India so I have to travel to “Malaysia” to pick this beauty up. I gave this Tesla a prestigious fifth place for its execution and my love for it. This is almost perfect, the only miss here is a rider, which would have made it perfect in every way. A gold variant was released later this year but that dint excited as this authentic silver.
The fourth place is shared between two beautiful Dodge Viper… the GTS (176/250) and the 2013 SRT (214/250). Yeah they two Viper deserves a higher up spot but because of heavy competition I gave them two this fourth place as I love them both the same. I have a 1:18 scale Dodge Viper by Maisto and this 1:64 scale one will display space with him, also the is the only Hotwheels that picked it off (from a collector friend of mine) the selves because I lost few good chances to pick him off shelves.
Taking the third spot in my top 10 for 2025 is this beautiful Honda VFR750 (RC30) (224/250) released under “Moto Motos”. This is the first motorbike to be featured in my Top 10 since I started posting it, yeah it really is that good and worthy contender for the other big boys here. I have always felt that Hot Wheels makes very bad motorbikes but this Honda VFR750 changed my mind, the paint work and decal application gets extra credits.
This year is more a Porsche year, with some beautiful Porsche casting released and greatest of all is the Porsche 911 Turbo Cabriolet (239/250) released under “Then and Now”. This Porsche 911 is a Cabriolet making it even more sexier than a coupe version… The purple finish is done quite well and the wheels is just beautiful… What made me give this beautiful Porsche second place instead of first is the pink interiors. Still a beauty so it took the runner up place.
This year’s winner is this beautiful Ferrari f40 Competizione (198/250), which by the way is the second Ferrari cast that was released this year and in my opinion the best Ferrari unleashed this year by Hotwheels. Released under “HW Exotics” series, this is nothing revolutionary but a cool car replicated in the best possible way. I liked this one for its sleek bodywork, beautiful paint job, headlamps that are separate pieces and the riding stance, which Hot Wheels nailed it. So a very deserving victory.
The year also saw a brand new series that become a instant far better than Ferrari even… It is the F1 Series, I managed to pick just one mainline (Mercedes AMG Petronas F1) and was very trilled. 2025 was a decent year overall and we Indian collectors were blessed with cases starting from “J”, just like last year. But the bigger problem that I and most other collectors would have faced is abundance of “Resellers” AKA “MRP sellers”, who took the collectors world by storm and even surpassed the “Scalpers” menace. But I was not complaining as I managed to get some beautiful hotties right from stores. Hopefully next year this menace gets surpassed and we real collectors rise up. Till next time… Ciao and Happy New Year.
