I love Ferrari diecast scale models and before Bburago got the Ferrari license I only had two in my collection! But now I have over 10, thanks to Bburago and their Ferrari lineup at affordable price. Mattel did some great cars like Enzo, LaFerrari and 430 but they all are out of my reach as they never made it to our soil. So when Bburago made LaFerrari I want to have one but I was never a big fan of black roof one so I waited and waited. Finally Bburago got the red roof LaFerrari, I picked one some time back in 2017!
After spending over five years in dormant, it is finally out last week! Here is my unboxing experience of this old boy with attitude that could challenge even the car launched yesterday. As mentioned earlier, this is a all red LaFerrari, which recently got released though the black roof LaFerrari was here for ever!
Though the package is in my storage in for over 5 years, it held up quite well and early looks old with a bit of dusting done! I personally love the red and black color schema for Bburago “Race and Play” series and this looks even cooler as the car inside is also has red body work with black wheels.
The rear of the package has some pics of other(1:24, 1:32 and 1:43) scale model Ferrais offered by Bburago. I personally like some of their 1:24 other than 1:18 for its diverse variety and decent finish that they come with for its scale. 1:32 and 1:43 are decent too but not my liking as a series collector.
Bottom of the package is mostly reserved for legal/import informations and licensing details. Though all these are boring stuff, this also reminds us of authenticity of this beauty and satisfaction that we dint buy a toy. On piece of information that got my attention is the hologram that is truly cool so how could I miss an opportunity to click one with my macro lens.
This is a typical unboxing and nothing special about… That’s what I thought but I was surprised when I started. Yeah I was surprised not because this is a brand new package but because it is a brand new car and it feel so refreshing unboxing a product that has been in storage for so many years.
The package is exactly same as Ferrari 488 GTB and Ferrari F50, which we unboxed in this xDiecast. But the car inside the package makes all the difference isn’t it? As mentioned, this unboxing is so exciting purely because of the LaFerrai caged inside this plastic prison. You actually feel like you got real car… Yeah its makes you feel so.
This Ferrari LaFerrai is held on to the plastic cage via two screws, which is usual for Bburago but only Ferrari series gets a plastic cage like one from Maisto but with a Bburago logo embossed on it. The doors and hood are held together by two transparent tapes, which again is natural for any Bburago.
I somehow love to do this shot for my every unboxing, gives me the felling of taking delivery of the real car from a showroom. I love this Ferrai LaFerrari in this angle and as it show a bit of top and a bit 3/4 angle so this shot brings in best of both worlds.
This LaFerrai is a looker and looks so good outside of the package/box. This LaFerrai is looks cooler with red roof for me and I like that feel, this gets better with the scissor doors open… Oh yeah this LaFerrari gets cooler scissor doors unlike most other Ferrari, which makes it much cooler if displayed with its doors open.
Though this is not a review, I would like to put my view on this Italian beauty so here you go… I like this LaFerrari for its sharp predator like face if viewed from top down, which is my favourite view of this Italian beauty. And the headlights looks so good adding to the angry beast looks all set to strike.
This LaFerrari is a 360 degree beauty and looks great from any angle. The front give up the angry beast look and gives you shiver if seen on a rearview mirror. The rearview mirror on a long beam gives a horn like vibe. The profile like any other Ferrari has sharp aerodynamic and low stance. Rearview is my favourite and bit fat with F1 style brake lights wrapping that sporty and track focus package.
This LaFerrari is Ferrari first full hybrid car and view of the V12 through window gets my adrenaline pumping. This being a Race & Play series Ferrari also gets a fully opening engine cover, which gives you full access to that beautiful engine.
This 1:18 LaFerrari by Bburago is not heavy scale model but not a light as other resin models even! It tips the scale at 739gms, which is relatively heavy… in fact heavier than Rastar 1:18 Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse(605gms) and also the Maisto 1:18 2014 Jeep Wrangler(520gms). For a sport car this is crazy heavy.
Like always, I wanted to do a size comparison with this Ferrari LaFerrari and the prefect candidate is this Ferrari 488 GTB… For now I only featured a profile angle but the full review (coming soon) will all the prominent shot. For me the LaFerrari looks a bit bigger but you be the judge of it. The paint shade is also bit different and I love the shade of LaFerrari as it is more sporty.
A better comparison would have been a Ferrari Enzo but I still don’t have on in my collection so this 488GTB is the perfect alternative. The more common LaFerrari in collectors community is the one with black roof but for this is the one. My Ferrari collection is getting bigger everyday, thanks to Bburago as Mattel’s version have all got off my hands! Though this is quite an old diecast scale model car in 1:18 scale, I am itching to do a full review so that may come soon, if I feel it. Do let me know your thoughts. Till next time… Ciao.
